The Making of BRIO McPRIDE was an entertaining and thought-provoking read. The story within a story element was unique, and it gave the book a sort of fairy tale feel that I found charming. This book touches on an array of relevant topics and the potential the tech world has to disrupt or destroy current systems. The book never felt preachy or that it was pushing a specific agenda. Instead, certain scenarios were presented to persuade the reader to interrogate their current beliefs, look at things in a different light, and form their own opinions. Scenes were really well described and Brio’s hallucinations were detailed well enough that I could feel them too. The dialogue was natural and the characters were fully fleshed out. For a lengthy book, I thought the pacing was quite good throughout and the splitting of the book into parts helped with that. Overall, I had a great time reading this story. This is one of those books that you think about after you’ve finished and would be well fitting to be discussed in a book club.
